Not Sure About You, But I'm Ready

Dear Lisa -

Having just returned from Israel, I was struck by the military presence and all of the structural barriers throughout the country.

It saddened me to think that people have to live their lives that way because of all the potential violence and hatred.

Yet upon my return to the United States, I was greeted by the news that two New York police officers had been executed simply because they were New York City police officers.

We must do everything within our power to ensure that we do not become an armed camp full of hatred and violence like other places in the world.

There is so much potential for good in this country if we do not allow ourselves to be manipulated by the agents of hatred who take advantage of any societal wrongs to further their nefarious agendas.

As you spend time with your family and friends this holiday season, I hope you will take some time to talk about what we can all do to build a better, stronger and safer nation for every American.

From my family to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a blessed New Year.

Sincerely,

Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D.

    1. Well z, here's what the "smart ones" are going to do.
They'll listen to a few choice sound bites like his recent statement that the women's liberation movement created Ferguson and laugh him out of the building.

The press will sense blood in the water and "Palin" his sorry arse.
That's the way it's going to happen if he isn't dropped immediately in the early primaries.

  6. A brilliant neurosurgeon, a good and decent man. He is not a politician, he has no record of public service (hell, Reagan was the governor of California prior to running for president), and he won'r get through the primaries.

But you can dream and have hope it happens.

  8. The LAST thing that DC needs is another "politician". In fact, the American people would be well served if the vast majority were forced to DEPART in 2016.

  19. Another Christmas has come and gone, and nothing has changed. Yes, Christmas means different things to different people and it’s meaning has become to a large degree on the age of the person. For the young it is a magical time of opening their gifts from under the tree. As one grows older it is a time of giving gifts and sending cards, and to some going to Church and singing Christmas carols, And for the very old who have outlived many family members and friends, it is tinged with remembrance and sadness. In between is an orgy of shopping, fighting the crows in the Malls and stores, Santa Claus, Christmas dinner with the family, and charging those credit cards to the max..
But to many others, things have changed thru the years, those who are firmly against saying “Merry Christmas, those who are against the use of the word “God” in any official way. Those who will even go so far as to go to court to complain about the presence of Christmas displays, Hanukkah Menorahs, or any religious symbol on “public land or property.” Even though the Constitution does not forbid this.
It must be said that this past Christmas,,was marred by the riots and protests by the Black community over the Police shooting’s of street thugs who resisted arrest by the police for whatever reason. But instead they challenged the police by even attempts of trying to take the gun away for the arresting police officer.
After several weeks of portraying police as the problem, instead of the so called “unarmed gentle teenagers” who were thugs with long records of previous arrests. And just last week, Two Innocent Police Officers that had absolutely NOTHING to do with these incidents were assassinated as payback for the deaths of a Ferguson, Missouri thug and a Staten Island petty thief. Insanely some people who needed a reason to riot, steal, burn down buildings, loot, and commit other violent acts marched in the streets shouting that they wanted “More DEAD COPS.” From the President and his “adviser” Al Sharpton, the Attorney General, and even the “Progressive” Mayor of New York, the message was that the police are the enemy, and NOT the violent mobs of animals who were only out looking for trouble.
Al Sharpton, so called “protesters” even mobbed the Brooklyn Bridge where they punched, and kicked two Police Lieutenants and hospitalized them.
It is the Progressives, Liberal Communists who are the enemy. Welcome to the 1950s all over again.

  20. Obama and Holder have been flaming up racial division since they took office. It’s not enough we have a nation that prides itself on electing a BLACK President, a BLACK Attorney General, and a legion of BLACKS who have worked hard to achieve success in public service and the private sector, in our hospitals, and in governmental positions. . So how can we be called s Racist Nation.
Something is terribly wrong when both parties have no one else, nobody better to offer than Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton!
There is no question among those of us old enough to remember when America had a set of beliefs, some spiritual, some secular, that held our society together for the good of all.
Beyond our shores, the nation has always had its enemies. They are more often than not nations who grant no freedom to their own citizens. The most recent example is North Korea and, for a variety of complicated and interrelated reasons (China!) the U.S. has been unable to respond with strength to its nuclear threats. The hacking of Sony Pictures was an act of cyber war, not “vandalism” as the President would have you believe. The threats that accompanied it made that clear.

The irony of our immigration problem is that America is still regarded with such high esteem that many want to come and live here. Some want it bad enough to sneak in. We now have several million illegal aliens living among us and both political parties do not see them has having broken the laws of our nation, but as potential new voters! That’s crazy and it’s dangerous when a President makes it known that he doesn’t think our borders must be defended. We have immigration laws for the same reason every other nation does and they must be enforced.

The hotspot in the world is the Middle East. Does anyone find it ironic that the “Prince of peace” was born in a nation, Israel, that much of the rest of the world wants to destroy? I find that depressing. The Arabs, supported by Europe and the Obama administration, are trying to get the U.N. to declare that the “Palestinians” are a state or nation.
How many more Christian’s and Jew must die before we will open our eyes and wake up to the fact that these people want to KILL US.

I stand withe Israel to exist as the nation that it was officially recognized by the United Nations on November 29, 1947.
