Rep. Hank Johnson: Ben Carson Supporters Are Ignorant 'Lynch Mob'

Monday, on the Michael Smerconish radio show, Rep. Hank Johnson(D-GA) accused Dr. Ben Carson of whipping his ignorant supporters into a “frenzy” and creating a “lynch-mob” mentality against president Obama.
After saying that he thought that President Obama was one of  “..the greatest presidents that we’ve had in the history of this nation,”  Johnson went on to say that Obama’s opponents have engaged in an effort to personally dehumanize the president.
He went on to single out Dr. Carson and his supporters accusing Carson on using his race to tap into the ignorance of the American people.
“To the extent that we have African-Americans trying to tap into that vein of ignorance. African-Americans like Dr. Ben Carson who is a very smart well-educated man and knows exactly what he’s doing. When we have blacks like that trying to tap into the ignorance of people who have been whipped into a frenzy, like a lynch mob, and you go to try to garner support from those folks, I think it’s very disappointing that we would have that kind of political discourse going on in this country. Appealing to the lowest common denominator, there could be nothing more disappointing than that kind of thinking.”Wow!
This, of course coming from an elected official who is best known for raising concerns, in a House hearing that the island of Guam might literally capsize due to over-population

These morons will stop at nothing
Talk about whipping people into a frenzy,OWS and Ferguson?

That is true, Anyone who perused the far right weblogs sooner or later has ran into graphics depicting President Obama as a monkey with a bone through his nose eating a banana and MUCH WORSE. In fact such graphics have been posted right here on this site from time to time.

It is with some certainty that I say Dr. 4Ben Carson in no way would stoop to such vulgar practices as to dehumanize the president. He is after all a fine neurosurgeon (retired) and an upstanding Christian.

    1. We need to ask Rep. Hank Johnson if Guam has capsized yet. Obama has been attacked far less than G.W. Bush, who was portrayed as a monkey as well. Those who do not feel that "tingle up their leg" saw Obama for the phony that he was. Obama is all about race. Obama was brought up by power brokers such as Soros and by the Hollywood/NYC Media Elites. Obama was Biden's "clean articulate black man with a history of radicalism-what we know of his history.. They had to throw over Hillary for Obama. Although born in the USA, Obama's thinking has a foreign accent, the "Dreams From His Father". His dream is to put the USA in its place, because to him, our successes have been ill gotten gain. If Dr. Ben Carson is elected POTUS, it will because of his message and not his pigmentation. Dr. Carson is the antithesis of Barack Obama and the antithesis of Rep. Hank Johnson as well....

    2. Spot on Syn and Dr Carson scares the left because he is very smart and is a great American success story, and since they can't dig up any dirt on him, they have to whip their base into a frenzy over him with lies and distortions

    3. Indeed I laugh heartily. Primarily at the hypocrisy you display. Do you recall the uproar over President Obama's lack of experience. Well, Carson has ZERO experience in politics or government. Guess that's peachy if it's a republican eh?

Scared, I highly doubt it. Most progressives (lefties) I know are hoping he gets the nod.

    4. Well, I disagree with Johnson. Carson supporters aren't a lynch mob, that's cheap hyperbole but they are dumb as hammers.

As for being scared of Carson.
Please, he guarantees a Dem presidential win and he'll keep standup comics loaded with material right from the start of the primaries. Nominate him. We beg you.

    5. Wrong kind of Negro, eh Ducky? You'd only support him if he were a card carrying Communist with a chip on his shoulder the size of Gibraltar who had bombed at least two buildings to rubble and murdered at least one policemen before he was elevated to a professorship in Law, Sociology or Minority Grievance Studies at one of our more prestigious Progressive Universities.

Well, as Betty Boop, that immortal icin of American popular taste, would say, "Poo Poo Pa-Doo to You, Lulu!"

  3. Nice try Lisa but no cigar.

There is nothing wrong with honest criticism of the president, any president from either party, and there is nothing wrong with caricatures of the president that are not meant to disrespect or dehumanize the man.

If you want to email me links with caricatures of Bush as dehumanizing (or racist) as ones of Obama I'd love to see them. But you won't because you can't.

The media? I assume you mean MSNBC. Well that may be so, and then you have FOX. But in reality it is the weblogs that domost of the demeaning.

  6. Nope, search your own archives of racist caricatures Lisa. I made a statement you know is accurate as do others. You then countered with a highly questionable statement most know is untrue. So your bait and switch won't fly.

Uppers, I'd call a spade a spade. Without the BS that is Sharpton's hallmark.

  8. Leftists have nothing left to fight with these days but their usual timeworn tactics of portraying Truth as a Lie, and Lies as the Truth. That plus the incessant barrage of naysaying, catcalling, name calling, snide insults, and attempts to change the subject they use in their tireless efforts to demean, overpower, and drown out the Truth.

They are failing and they know it. What else could account for this week's traitorous move on the part of despicable Dianne Feinstein to further discredit the last BUSH administration -- as though that had any relevance to the crises we face today?

    BAH HUMBUG!

These bastards are as transparent as glass. Why they even bother to continue staging their grimy, illegitimate insurgencies against the country that made them rich we cannot know. They have colossal effrontery and no shame whatsoever, and they count on the Republican's fear of losing popularity and their unfortunate capacity ever to avoid confrontation, just as they know that those who make the loudest noise are most apt to garner the lion's share of public attention.

  9. Since American liberals constantly compare the USA to Europe, how about American liberals start joining Europeans... instead of "African Americans" and Illegal Immigrants that have zero cultural Influence, connections, affiliations or acceptance in European society, culture and life ?

The Fact is that : The average European has never seen a "African American", and couldn't care less about them..

  10. YOU liberals better wake up to the facts of life in the real world, and understand that there are people out there who hate and want to kill Americans, no matter how much the current president apologizes and tries to appease them, no matter how many Kings he bows to, no matter how many tin horn south American dictators he jokes with and plays second fiddle to.Of course there are... And throughout almost all of our American history, we have responded to those who wish to kill us .. Instead, we have taken the high road and maintained those values that make America worth fighting for in the first place. When we Americans haven't lived up to our values, and vowed to do better, Shit happens..
I'm sorry but I just can NOT agree with the policies or the actions of the current president! And for that matter, I feel that these people that Obama associates with like Al Sharpton, Jay Zee, and that ilk are also doing so much damage to this country, that I do not honestly believe we can survive it, At least in my life-time.

When before in America's history did LOW-LIFE'S such as those have the right to "sit down" with the President, Governor, or the Mayor to voice their opinions? NEVER!

  11. Jay Z received some backlash this week when he posed for a photo with Brooklyn Nets players wearing #ICantBreathe shirts, in honor of Eric Garner, but not Hov.

Instead of protest and marching Jay took his star power right to the politicians. In a sit down with Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday, Jay talked potential reform to the state’s criminal justice system.

WHAT KIND OF BULL-SHIT IS THIS!

  15. Even to mention a character like Barack Obama in the same paragraph with Dr. Ben Carson betrays a morally blind, intellectually deficient, and incredibly obtuse worldview. Any attempt to equate or even compare the great surgeon's "lack of experience" in the political realm with the lack of experience of this pathetic excuse for a head of state is absurd.

Dr. Carson is a man of substance and solid accomplishment in a difficult, extraordinarily demanding field. President Obama's accomplishments are illusory. He's little more than an accomplished bullshit artist whose thin veneer of surface charm has worn away because of his arrogance and manifest ineptitude.

There is no basis for comparison between a highly creative, leading practitioner of neurosurgery at one of our finest, most prestigious hospitals, and a Community Organizer with sharp elbows and an over-inflated ego from the streets of Chicago.

In truth our president is little more than a pretentious thug in a Brook's Brothers suit, while Dr. Carson is a true gentleman and a scholar.

Unfortunately, the great America Public tends to adore flashy fakers and meretricious mountebanks while blithely ignoring meritorious men and women who really count for something of intrinsic value.

  16. Nice sidestepping FreeThinke.

Aside from your vehement dislike for President Obama (whatever the reasons may be) the fact remains that experience is experience and I recall the argument Obama lacked credible experience having used it myself in posts and comments.

Obama has a legal backgrou background and he entered the office with both state and federal legislative experience. Carson has NONE of the preceeding.

Carson is accomplished and highly respected in his field of expertise. Yes he is a man of substance, although IMO he does have a rather narrow and almost myopic worldview.

I did not vote for Obama and if by some unexplainable miracle Carson should be nominated by the republicans I will not vote for him either.

I agree with your assessment of the great "American Public" made up of both republicans and democrats, liberals and republicans.
