Another one joins the ranks

Joe Walsh cancels benefit concert in Cleveland due to it being a prelude to the GOP Convention

"I am very concerned about the rampant vitriol, fear-mongering and bullying coming from the current Republican campaigns. It is both isolationist and spiteful."
Seriously Joe? You are concerned about vitriol?
The only vitriol I see is coming from the left .
All conservatives are racists and bigots,anti-women.Rap songs about killing Trump ,which with who Walsh had no problem with appearing at the same event.
Not to mention the nasty protest signs and bomb threats at Trump rallies
This has become reverse McCarthyism.
The only thing is many in Hollywood really 'were' communists.
Doesn't Joe Walsh know that Glenn Frey isn't going to yell at him if he didn't cancel?
And why does he need to be PC ? Hasn't Life Been Good To Him So Far?

  3. Rap sucks. It is not music. First, there is a beat. It is not even a beat played on drums by a musician. It is a programmed drum machine. Next, they add sampled songs, tunes, noises, and whatever. They did not create these. They recorded it and then dub it over their fabricated beat. Next, some dumb un-talented black guy starts talking about weed, or Cops, and booty while another dumbass un-talented black guy is in the background saying sheet like "yo", "YAY!", "yeeeaaaaassshhhhh", "dat's right", "check it out, or whatever...It may have been cute back when Run DMC was doing it. But now, Jam Master Jay is dead you all look like a bunch of dumb, ignorant un-talented black guys standing on the street corner, getting high.
All these dudes do is annoy people

    4. No, Canardo, I'm merely expressing disdain for ANYONE who dwells excessively, exclusively and incessantly on negativity while ignoring any trace of virtue in those he dislikes or disapproves of politically. Unfortunately, every time I begin to believe you and I might develop a cordial, mutually respectful relationship, you return to your tired old rancorous rhetoric.

I've believed for years I could like you, if you'd drop your Bitter Old Bitch Act, and admit to being a human being and act accordingly, instead of playing the perpetual pain in the ass.

There is absolutely no point whatsoever in digging up dirt on Ronald Reagan. He's already been dead a long time and is no longer competitive in the political process.

That means he is not relevant to the current race for the White House, so denigratory statements about him are just gratuitous nastiness.

In case you hadn't noticed I've been making a concerted effort to rise above that sort of thing in hope of improving the tine and quality of commentary on this blog.

Sadly the appetite for pointless clamor and waspish hostility seems insatiable in a few who seems to live only to make trouble.

  7. The Republican Party’s standard deserves to be hoisted by an honorable and decent man, like Romney or Ryan, elected on the convention floor. It is better to lose with principle than to accept a dangerous deal from a crazy demagogue with orange hsir.

Ya better chase all your cares away
    Sing hallelujah, c'mon get happy
Get ready for the judgment day

The lord is waiting to take your hand
    Shout hallelujah, c'mon get happy

  15. The Flying Burrito Brothers (with Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman) invented country-rock while the Eagles cashed in on it.

  16. The Eagles actually stole much from Poco who were one of the true inventors of the California country rock sound (Check out Poco's Deliverin'). The Eagles even stole two members: Randy Meisner and Tim Schmidt. But before Poco, The Eagles and FBB, the Byrds started it all with 'Sweetheart of the Rodeo.' Even Rick Nelson pre-dates most who are credited as inventors of the genre. http://www.rocktownhall.com/blogs/once-and-for-all-country-rock/

    1. Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman were in the Byrds for that record and were the impetus behind it.

    2. Poco has plenty of great music. As for the Eagles, they got lucky at the time they got signed to Asylum Records. The story behind it was that David Geffen was looking for a label to sign Jackson Browne. Geffen had solicited 4 record companies, with each of them telling him Jackson Browne was the worst singer they ever heard. One of the executives at Atlantic Records told Geffen to form his own company and sign him on, promising Geffen that they would distribute his record company artists. Geffen came across the Eagles and Linda Rondstadt at the time and got them going along with Jackson Browne. A few years later, Geffen sold his profitable company Asylum Records to Atlantic, and they merged it with Elektra Records. The Eagles made their fortune thanks to David Geffen. Don Henley never forgot who brought him fame after he went solo, as he signed onto Geffen Records after he left Asylum Records.
