Earlier
this week, McCarthy had praised a House select committee's work for its
effect on weakening Hillary Clinton's poll numbers during her
presidential campaign. On Thursday, McCarthy, the current House majority
leader, said on Fox News that he had unintentionally misstated his
position.
"This committee was set up
for one sole purpose, to find the truth on behalf of families for four
dead Americans," McCarthy told Bret Baier. "Now, I did not imply in any
way that that work is political, of course it is not. Look at the way
they have carried themselves out."
He
added: "That committee is solely to get the truth out, but it happened
within the truth you found out about a server," a reference to the
private email server Clinton has admitted she maintained while secretary
of state. "This committee's sole purpose is to find the truth why four
Americans were killed that night, and that is the work they have done,
that is the hearings they have done, they have been applauded on all
sides of the aisle, so it was never my intention to say that."
McCarthy also told Baier he predicts that he will get the votes to become speaker.
What he actually said:
"Everybody
thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?" McCarthy said on Fox
News. "But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select
committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why?
Because she's untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had
happened had we not fought."
Now anyone with so much as a a GED can comprehend this statement . But as usual the spin masters twisted it to fit their small minded audiences.
He never said this was done to bring down her poll numbers since if anyone was paying attention ,she wasn't even running for president when this investigation started. I know that is a little tough for the agenda pushing left to admit though.

I've said this before, and I’ll say it again, and again if I have to... I think we who blog about politics and comment on political blogs have a somewhat skewed idea of what our fellow Americans think about our government. I don't think they pay as much attention to politics and government as we think they do. Most Americans are raising families, paying their bills, and hoping they can afford to send their kids to college, but they don't get "too deep into the weeds" of political arguments the way we do. That's just my take. Don't know if it's really accurate.
ReplyDeleteI live in a part of Boston that attracts thousands of tourists every year, and I get to interact with Americans from all over the country, especially when they ask for directions to historical sites or suggestions for where to eat. I have found all of these interactions pleasant, and the visitors are pleasantly surprised to find a Bostonian who is friendly, interested in where they come from, and willing to sometimes even walk them to the destination they're seeking. I could care less about their political leanings, and I find when we interact like decent people should, we receive decency in return.
So what does this mean with regard to your post? I think a lot of us are political animals who have passionate feelings about where this country is heading -- especially those of us who are older and have raised our children and are observing the world in which our grandchildren are living. There will always be tension between political ideology, and that tension has been part of American political life since Adams and Jefferson went at each other's throats during their campaigns. America is still here, a bit tattered, but still a powerful, wealthy, functioning republic, warts and all.
Try not to be too discouraged. I think the apocalyptic view of America and the belief that our best years are behind us could become self-fulfilling if we continue to denigrate everything to do with government. Is it reasonable to believe small government would work in the third most populous country on the planet?
Take the latest shooing in Oregon for example... Jeb Bush replied, "Stuff Happens”...when asked about the shooting! Can you even think about what those Gooper would say if Obama ever gave an answer like that Idiot gave!!

DeleteIn giving probation with no jail time to a Milwaukee man charged with 55 counts of buying firearms with fake identification and dealing them without a license, a federal judge delivered a message:

On Wednesday, he was sentenced. As part of the plea bargain, prosecutors agreed with the one year of probation.

But Mills, Randa said, did not come across as a typical defendant because of his good behavior since the charges and his life ambitions, which include becoming a rap musician. While on bail, Mills twice traveled to Los Angeles to work on a film and to pursue his musical aspirations.
Randa said he had seen plenty of people facing similar charges who bought firearms for friends and then took no responsibility for their actions. Mills, he said, has accepted responsibility.

Now we hear that Obama wants to change Thanksgiving Day for “Immigrant’s Day.”

Since Barack Obama first became president, he has been on a mission to destroy American, Christian culture. This year, he is planning to do this once again by eliminating Thanksgiving and replacing it with a holiday called “Immigrant’s Day.”

When Hillary or her lackeys, or henchman speaks of the vast right wing conspiracy and how Hillary Clinton is misunderstood, why doesn’t someone challenge the facts, openly and directly, exactly what are they afraid of? They know the truth for heavens sake.
Hillary Clinton created a methodology that used a secret email system that negated public disclosure through the Freedom of Information Act, denied Congress the information needed to perform mandated oversight, and ensured that the historical archives would never contain the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Hillary, and Bill Clinton, have a pattern and practice of criminal wrongdoing and have managed to skirt the law by denying, deflecting, and outright lying to law enforcement officials.

Who needs a private army to enforce your personal dictates when you have union thugs, many of whom may be associated with organized crime, to do your bidding?
If anyone believes that a corrupt, lying, Marxist should be the next President of the United States, there is something deeply wrong with our nation’s political institutions and politicians. The Clintons are tantamount to self-serving organized crime and should be prosecuted under the appropriate RICO statutes designed to curb organized crime in our nation.
That the progressive socialist democrat party – now the neo-Communist Party in the United States – would allow Hillary Clinton to be their frontrunner without a closer look says something about the party itself and their inability to protect America and ALL Americans from our enemies, both foreign and domestic.
So until we find someone who has the courage – and perhaps Donald Trump, might be the one to speak the truth, we will be foundering on the shoals of socialism where enlightened elites continue to tell us how to live our lives.
You know, I once thought we found that man in General Colin Powel – but he turned into a bitter man who apparently sacrificed his principles to remain relevant, he turned out to be a Winnie and a Pawn for the Race Baiters..
I even thought we might have found that man in Scott Walker, a man who stood up to the unions and acted like a conservative when surrounded by progressives.
And, I think that my next candidate is Ted Cruz, a well-credentialed, well-spoken, and well-experienced conservative man who has stood up against his own party to pursue what he believed to be the truth on behalf of “We the People.” Now he finds himself battling the status-quo wing of both political parties who want to keep the dung heap just as they first found it when they entered politics.
So until I am proven to be wrong, Trump is my Man. Trump has absolutely no political correctness. He is so refreshing. Should he be president? Maybe, Maybe not. Would he win? I don’t know..
But it is damn refreshing to hear some friggin truth and honesty for once, and to put these lying douchbags in their place.
