If you watch the video of the fight, the cops refrained from using a choke hold on the dude, and he was able to not only get away, he was able to disarm them of their taser. It's just luck that is what they had in their hands for him to take and not a gun.
As I watched, I said to my son, "If they used a choke hold on him, that dude would be alive today."

We are told that George Floyd was a victim of racism, simply because he was black and died at the hands of a white police officer, but where is the actual evidence of racism on the part of Officer Derek Chauvin or the other accused officers in the case? Officer Chauvin had been previously accused of misconduct, and there is some indication he may have had a personal grudge against Floyd — they evidently knew each other — but I have yet to see any evidence clearly proving that racism was the motive of Chauvin’s actions on May 25.
To ask for evidence, I suppose, is racist, because everything is racist. Merely being white is racist, so if you’re white, it’s probably just a matter of time until some activist notices your existence and decides to destroy you personally. Something you said or did was racist, or maybe you didn’t say anything, but silence is violence, so the mob will show up, the “unrest” will begin, and they’ll burn everything to the ground.
The next day’s headlines will describe a “mostly peaceful protest,” as if the attendant destruction and violence was trivial.

As you know, Trump was not my first choice . . . he wasn’t my any choice. I didn’t want him at all, but as election day neared, I knew that I had no choice but to vote for Trump. I live in Florida, and Trump needed to win our state, and the polls looked gloomy for him here. There was no way in hell I was going to have any tiny bit of Hillary being elected president. So I voted for Trump, and since then, I’ve done nothing but feel more confident about his presidency. He’s making good picks for most cabinet positions (I’m not thrilled with his Secretary of State pick, but he can be gone in a flash if he doesn’t work out).

When the cops showed up, they spent 40 minutes dealing with him.
40 minutes. That's a long time to tie up two policemen.
The cops were very patient with this guy. And the guy was cooperative during that 40 minutes.
But the second a pair of handcuffs touched his wrists, the dude went crazy. The two cops spent the next several minutes struggling with this guy.
The cops were fit. And yet they could not get this guy under control. He got the better of them despite being drunk.
This is not a reflection on the cops. A maniac can take up to 5 people to subdue him. Especially if you don't allow them to use a choke hold.
If you watch the video of the fight, the cops refrained from using a choke hold on the dude, and he was able to not only get away, he was able to disarm them of their taser. It's just luck that is what they had in their hands for him to take and not a gun.
As I watched, I said to my son, "If they used a choke hold on him, that dude would be alive today."
My son hates the cops. Yes he’s stupid because he had had some run-ins with them. But that’s no reason to hate cops, and Im the first one to admit it.
But he saw my point.
I've never had an opinion of the choke hold. I know some people have been hurt by choke holds, and I know the rare person has been killed by the choke hold.
But that fight would have been over in seconds if those cops used it. And the dude would be alive.
He would be alive if he didn't put up a fight, too, but that's for another discussion on another day.
The cops shot him in the back. As he was running AWAY from them.

What does the word “racist” mean? We are told that George Floyd was a victim of racism, simply because he was black and died at the hands of a white police officer, but where is the actual evidence of racism on the part of Officer Derek Chauvin or the other accused officers in the case? Officer Chauvin had been previously accused of misconduct, and there is some indication he may have had a personal grudge against Floyd — they evidently knew each other — but I have yet to see any evidence clearly proving that racism was the motive of Chauvin’s actions on May 25.
To ask for evidence, I suppose, is racist, because everything is racist. Merely being white is racist, so if you’re white, it’s probably just a matter of time until some activist notices your existence and decides to destroy you personally. Something you said or did was racist, or maybe you didn’t say anything, but silence is violence, so the mob will show up, the “unrest” will begin, and they’ll burn everything to the ground.
