Hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to check in to let you know I am doing fine. Every day is a little easier. It's still a weird feeling to not have my husband with me because we were together for so many years. I have such a great support system . My family, especially my sister who is my rock and was there for me throughout everything and still is. Now she is going through my brother in law having a quadruple bypass 3 weeks ago. He is recovering very well .
I have the best friends and family ever. I am really blessed . One of my very dear friends comes by with something delicious she cooks for me frequently. She is a fabulous cook. She never got married. I may have to move her in here. I made a nice circle of friends from the dog park and we all went out for dinner just before Christmas and we are going out again next week.
My mom is doing well. She's 89 and has an apartment in my house. I am pretty much always on call since she is here with me. But she is still capable of doing most things for herself but she really has slowed down. Pauls' niece and I have become so much closer and I am so happy about that. She is a wonderful person who overcame a lot in her life. She wrote and read the eulogy which I am still waiting for her to rewrite so I can share it with you all. She is a beautiful writer and she did Uncle Paul proud. I asked her to do it because I knew it would be awesome and it was. Her brother who lives in California was very close to Paul. This hit him very hard. They spoke weekly on the phone . Now we speak or text daily. We console each other. Paul has a fraternal twin . It hit him very hard as well as you could imagine. He has withdrawn but I try to maintain a dialogue with him . It hit his wife,my sister in law, hard also. They were all childhood friends. she grew up next door to Paul and his brother . Yes she married the boy next door. Ironically her brother married the girl who lived next door to them on the other side. Isn't that something?
Anyway I want to thank everyone for all your kind words.
Looking forward to posting something political soon.
Happy and Healthy New Year
